How to use DND Dice Roller?

When playing DND or other tabletop role-playing games, don't have DND polyhedral dice? At this time, DND Dice Roller comes in handy!

👉 Click here to experience the Dice Roller tool immediately

It is a completely free online dice throwing tool that allows you to roll polyhedral dice results such as D20, D6, D10 D8, D4, D100, etc. by clicking on the web page anytime and anywhere. No registration or installation is required, which is very convenient and simple!

Let's take you step by step to understand how to use this dice tool.

Step 1: Open the Dice Roller page

After entering the Virtual Dice Roller page, you will see a very intuitive interface. As shown in Figure 1, this is the setting section, which will be introduced one by one below:

Step 2: Select the dice you want to throw

In the middle of the interface, you can see 7 different types of DND dice icons, such as:

D4 (4-sided dice)

D6 (6-sided dice, the most common dice)

D8 (8-sided dice)

D10 (10-sided dice)

D12 (12-sided dice)

D20 (20-sided dice, the core dice of DND)

D100 (100-sided dice)

You can click on the dice type you want to use according to your needs, and the selected dice will be displayed in the throwing column - in the middle below the dice type.

For example, if you want to throw a 20-sided dice (D20), click the D20 icon. It will be automatically added to the throwing column. But if you click the D20 dice twice in a row, you will not see two D20 dice added in the throw column area. As shown in Figure 3:

Figure 3: Clicking the D20 dice twice in a row will not add two D20 dice

Because the first time you click the D20 dice is to select the dice type, and the second time you click the D20 dice is to withdraw the D20 dice, you can choose up to 7 different dice types to throw at once.

Step 3: Click the "Roll" throw button

After selecting the dice, click the "Roll DND Dice" button, and the dice will "roll" and display the results! As shown in Figure 4:

Step 4: View the historical throw records

Dice Roller also thoughtfully retains the historical throw records of the dice. You can see the detailed results of each of your previous dice rolls in the "Dice Roll History" area. At that time, it only displays the latest 5 throw records. As shown in Figure 5:

Figure 5: Dice Roll History shows the results of the latest 5 rolls

This is very useful when you forget how many points you just rolled or want to review a certain attack point!

For example: How does a DND character use Dice Roller?

For example, you are playing DND now, controlling a LV3 Ranger character, and need to attack the enemy in a battle.
You open the online virtual dice roller on your phone, click a D20 (for attack determination), and then click "Roll DND Dice" to roll the dice.
The Dice Roller shows the result is 17, your attack bonus is +5, so the attack result is 22, hit!
Next you need to roll the damage dice, for example, a D8 + 3.
You click D8, and then manually add +3 in your mind (Dice Roller currently does not support bonus, but you can add it yourself). Assuming the dice result is 6, the total damage is 9!
You can complete the whole process with this online tool, which is very quick and convenient.

To sum up:

Whether you have physical dice or not, this Dice Roller is a good helper for you to play RPG games online.

  • It supports all common dice from D4 to D100.
  • The operation is simple: select the dice → click Roll → see the result.
  • You can also view the history, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting.
