Qwixx Fast Dice Game Rules | How to Play Qwixx Step by Step

Objective: Score the most points by crossing off as many numbers as possible across the four colored rows on your score sheet before the game ends.

Setup

• Give each player a Qwixx score sheet and a pen or pencil.
• Place all 6 dice in the center of the table.
• Designate a starting active roller — the role passes clockwise each round.

Turn Sequence

1. Roll All 6 Dice: The active player rolls all 6 dice simultaneously — 2 white and 4 colored.
2. White Dice Sum (All Players): Every player — including non-active players — may cross off the number equal to the sum of the two white dice in any one colored row of their choice. This is the key mechanic: everyone scores on every roll.
3. Colored Dice Option (Active Player Only): The active player may additionally cross off the number equal to the sum of one white die plus one colored die, in the matching colored row on their sheet.
4. Penalty: If the active player does not cross off any number at all during their turn, they must mark a penalty box on their score sheet. Four penalties end the game immediately.
5. Locking a Row: A row is locked when a player crosses off the final number (12 for red/yellow, 2 for green/blue) — but only after crossing off at least 5 numbers in that row. The locking player crosses off the lock symbol, and that colored die is removed from play for all players.

Game End & Scoring

The game ends when either two rows are locked or any player accumulates four penalties. Each crossed-off number scores points on a triangular scale (1 cross = 1 pt, 2 = 3 pts, 3 = 6 pts... up to 12 = 78 pts). Subtract 5 points per penalty. The player with the highest total score wins!
